I am always searching for something to make my house look more like a home, whether its online or in the shops. This week I passed by ZARA HOME’s new outlet at Pama Shopping Mall. If you love Zara go and check out the store its beautiful.

How incredible are the marble style vases? I also love the sparkling table mats.

Are you a skull fan? I find it fun and quirky but the style is not really me. Loving the dark Martini glasses.

My dishes are all white, while it might be a bit boring to some I find it practical and timeless. Plus if one breaks its also easier to replace. I would definitely rather add pops of colour to my table with flowers, candles, or with linens.

I like the mirror trend thats going on with furnishings at the moment. Those jewellery boxes are stunning.

My house is very monocromatic, my walls are white, kitchen and doors are an espresso colour. A rich black brown. My furniture is also mainly white. We have silver accents. So this all appeals to me. Slowly I will start introducing pops of colour and if you havent guessed it im obsessed with lots of greys.

I find these citrus colours so fun, especially for summer. They can really brighten up the kitchen and work perfectly within the bathrooms. My style is much more muted overall, but I love the glass displays. We were given some Mdina Glass items for our wedding and they make a great touch and cheer up a room.

As I mentioned earlier we have silver accents, so this display is sooo me. I love the bathroom soap dispensers. I bought mine somewhere else but they are actually very similar to these. Would you put shells/corals in your bathroom?

I like the leaf print candle. I bought some gorgeous plants today I will post about them a bit later 🙂

You can’t go wrong with white. Crisp and clean always.

Coral and gold go so well together. Beach lux, when I see these colours it makes me want to buy a gozo summer home, peacefully overlooking the sea.

Those silver crackle vases! They are a total must have. I also didn’t realise until I looked closely at this photo that there is a glass mirror bottom tray. I have been looking online for months for one. How did I not see it in the store??? That’s it this weekend I need to go to Zara again!

I LOOOVE those light barely tinted blue tumblers.

Please don’t blame me for any damage that will be done to your credit cards as a result of this post.

A girl can never have too many colours… Hope you liked todays post!

Coccinelle Event!

I got a really lovely invite from Coccinelle Malta in the post recently…

What made this invite intriguing and special was a small key attached with a pink ribbon… How wonderful, how mysterious! Maybe my key could unlock one of their beautiful bags! Excitement has been bubbling up and today was the day… Was lady luck on my side?

When I arrived there was a red carpet and I was greeted by some fellow bloggers.

The shop as usual was perfectly polished and the displays tempting. I had missed the launch but I often visit to drool at the beautiful collections. The staff are always immaculately dressed, ever so helpful and polite…
They had adorn the shop with cute rose petals and splashes of pink.

Guests was asked to fill out a form and then given a key to open one of three lucky chests.

We spent ages admiring the stunning spring collection…
Look at these colours they are just divine right? – I want them all!

It was finally time to try our luck and see if one of our key’s would fit in one of the 3 2 chests (one had already been opened) I tried my key in the two remaining and they didn’t even slide in. Sigh. I guess I know how the ugly sisters felt when they couldn’t fit into the glass slipper!

That feeling didn’t last very long because…

Just before we left each of us was given a parcel wrapped in brightly coloured tissue paper, me and the other girls ( Lara,  Maya, Stephanie – click to check out their blogs) waited until we left the store and huddled together decided to open them. Maya made me laugh commenting it felt like Christmas, which actually it did because when we opened our gifts we all lit up… Each of us had a beautiful scarf.

The little one wanted to say hello 😉 I love the red colour! Some of the girls got a mustard one which was equally pretty but I am glad I got the red since I think it is more my style. Some lucky ones was also given a cookie! How cute are these?

It is so wonderful that I get to meet such amazing women at these events, Both Martina and Marija (check these blogs out too!) joined us at Cafe Cuba for a coffee and a gossip, it really was a lovely Saturday.
How did you spend yours?

experiment with nail colour…

Nail Polish can be a confusing choice…

With so many products on the market, and so many colours to choose from its not surprising that the average woman can end up with a box of used gloopy polishes in her possession.

This is a product no one can live without

A few drops of Mavala Thinner will restore thickened nail polish to its correct consistency making it easier to apply in thin coats. So ladies, you can now stop trying to add acetone into your nail polish, we all know it just doesn’t work!

Just add a few drops, turn the bottle upside down and roll between your hands. This method (opposed to shaking) will prevent air bubbles from getting trapped inside the polish. Leave the bottle to stand for 20 mins. Now you will never need to throw away a colour because it was too thick.

Choosing a colour…

I think for most women this is the hardest part, choosing a colour which suits you as well as looks fashionable. Colours are not just seasonal, they are accessories. The colour you choose represents a small slice of your personality. Nail polish is a quick way to dress up outfits. One of the things my clients are concerned about is colours that clash with the clothes they wear.

Personally I think its good to experiment with colour! Skin tone is important when choosing colours as every colour will look different once applied.

According to New York manicurist Deborah Lippman “If your skin is dark or has golden undertones, bright, true reds look best. To make pink skin look less ruddy, use lighter orange-reds. If you’re pale, the contrast of a blue-red is striking“.

I recently came across an article about colours and it say’s about you…

Fire-Engine Red: You’re sassy, self-assured, and not afraid to be dramatic. Bright red is a bold, look-at-me colour that is a symbol for passion, fire, and confidence. You love the spotlight, and you take charge of situations.

Hot Pink: You’re spunky and energetic. Pink is a colour that is associated specifically with women, and hot pink lets you show your spunk and spice.

Pale Pink: Painting your nails pale pink is a subtle expression. You are likely quiet, or at least you don’t want to stand out, and youthful. Pale pink is not significantly different from the colour of your nails (if you’re Caucasian), but you still want to show your soft side.

Black: Painting your nails black is a classic symbol of anti-establishment. It doesn’t mean you are depressed or going goth, but it’s a way of rebelling against the norm and showing some of the darkness in your personality.

Navy Blue: This is a colour of sophistication and authority. Wearing this colour on your nails tells people to listen up, because you’re in charge.

Aqua (Light) Blue: You’re showing the youthful and calm side of your personality when you paint your nails a light blue. Aqua is a cool colour, a nonchalant colour.

French Manicure: You are glamorous and professional. You don’t need a whole new colour; your nails look good as they are, and you simply emphasize and define yourself.

Magenta: A combination of the reds, pinks, and purples, magenta is feminine but not flashy. You are vibrant and youthful, but you don’t need to be the centre of attention at all times.

Orange: This colour is bright and vibrant, for people who want attention drawn to them. It also symbolizes autumn and the changing seasons: a time of brightness and change.

Dark Brown: A dark and rich colour, this shade of brown indicates boldness and authority. You like your nails like you like your men. Just kidding.

Maroon: Maroon is a warm colour, a combo of red and purple, retaining the authority of red and the confidence of purple. It’s a mature, sophisticated colour that, when worn on your nails, invites respect.

Coffee-Coloured: You are earthy and energetic. Tan and light brown are earth tones, cool colours that bring you closer to Mother Nature.

Green: This colour invokes images of vigour and the environment. Going “green” in your nail polish exudes earthiness and spunk.

Deep Purple: Purple is the colour of royalty. Wearing it on your nails shows you have a confident personality, and you’re not afraid to stand out from the crowd.

Lavender: You are graceful and collected. A combination of pink and purple, lavender is feminine and confident without the youthfulness of pure pink.

Have fun with colour.
