Yesterday I desperately needed to buy shampoo and conditioner, mine had finished and I had all of about 5 mins to browse the isles in the pharmacy and make a choice, so I hurried to the shampoo section. I have been hearing good things about TRESemmé from some of the other Maltese bloggers so I decided to give them a go.

I had tried TRESemmé before when I still lived in London (maybe 10 years ago) but at the time it didn’t do so much for my hair, I am so glad that I gave the brand a second chance because instantly I felt a difference in my hair’s condition. I wouldnt normally write a post for the first use but my hair feels super soft, and silky. I couldn’t stop running my fingers through my hair all afternoon and I like the way it smells.

I plan on writing up a full review later on each product once I have used them a few times, but so far I am a very happy bunny. And the best thing for 500ml they are in the 5e mark so its beauty on a budget!

What haircare are you girlies using?

I have to admit the cc creams I’ve tried in the past never really thrilled me, then I was given this beauty in the shade light/medium and it literally changed everything…

In true Clinique’s style the CC Cream is in a green tube with silver lid. I love that the packaging is in a tube because it makes dispensing easy, I can squeeze out the right amount quickly without wasting product. It is also much more hygienic in a tube since dust, dirt and bacteria will be much harder to penetrate verses tubs and jars. I only need a little which should make the CC cream last quite a while.

“Correct any irregularities in your skin in one step with the new CC Cream SPF30 Superdefense. This new generation perfecting care moisturizes skin, corrects skin tone and prevents early signs of aging. Its smart technology instantly corrects redness, dull or uneven skin tone. In seconds, your skin regains its natural glow”. – Clinique.

The CC is oil free which makes it suitable for all skintypes. Absolutely perfect for my skin, which tends to be dry on the cheeks and forehead yet oily on the nose and chin. It contains a range of antioxidants to help protect the skin, boosting skin health, as well as an spf30 which is essential to keeping skin protected from sun damage.

For some one who is very dry they might need to boost with moisturiser underneath, for my skin I find that it’s fine for everyday use but I like to use a thicker cream for the evening which has more nourishing (and anti ageing) properties.

The texture is rather creamy considering its oil free, it’s got this gorgeous dewy finish that doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky. I feel my skin instantly brighter and more even toned, it has this lovely radiance without shimmer that makes the skin look luminous.

This is how my skin looks with the CC & foundation, no concealer just powder and blush.

It retails just under 25 euro which I think is really quite reasonable, not exactly cheap but not the highest priced CC on the market. I love that it can be used as a light moisturiser with cover, or a primer under foundation. Since its such a versatile product no girl’s beauty stash should be without it.

I have worn this alone and with foundation ontop. When I use it alone it has a very nice glow to it, I feel my skin looks radiant but not shiny. It has a slightly dewy effect on skin which personally I adore, but if you prefer a more matte finish you can set with a little powder.

When I have used it to prime under my foundation I found that I needed the minimal amount of foundation as the CC cream has a lovely cover. I love to have quite a bit of cover so my skin looks uniformed also I generally skip concealer so using both the CC and my foundation gives me that even toned look immediately. One of the things I like so much is that it’s nice to build up layers with. When I use this with my Clinique Superbalanced foundation I get a really beautiful flawless finish.

I have to admit it didn’t make much of a difference to how well my foundation lasted, my foundation always lasts me a full day though.

I have been using it almost daily since I received it just before Christmas and I really really love it. Quite surprisingly my partner actually noticed the difference and told me how nice my skin looked when I paired the CC and foundation. So that’s a huge bonus as guys hardly notice these things.

Have you got any flawless foundation tricks?
Or brands you just can’t live without?

I am a little addicted to these…
Out of the 17 shades I own 5 and I am tempted to pick up a few more. I really don’t know how I lived so long without these in my life!

They have a cute yet simple packaging. The lids are black and the highly pigmented cream is visible though the tubes. The doe foot applicator makes it very easy to apply the lip cream. The names are listed on the bottom of each tube and each one is named after a city.

soft matte cream gloss nyx cream gloss names

Neither lipstick nor lip gloss, this matte lip cream is a new kind of lip color that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing.” – NYX

I want to call this a lipgloss simply because of the method of application, yet its not glossy. Its got a smooth creamy texture whilst applying and dries into a matte weightless vibrant colour. Once the cream has dried it really stays put, I can wear it for hours, and kiss my partner without fear of leaving a mark.

I wouldn’t call it moisturising, however, I wouldn’t say it leaves the lips looking dry/feeling extremely either. After a full day of wearing I do need to slather on my favourite Elizabeth Arden 8 hr lipbalm to re-hydrate.

L-R: “Milan“, “San Paulo“, “Ibiza“, “Amsterdam“, “Copenhagen“.

The first shades I bought were Amsterdam & San Paulo. I had seen the beautiful red Amsterdam on a few blogs and really loved it, and the San Paulo looked like a good neutral shade not to bright not to nude perfect for everyday. A week later Milan, Ibiza and Copenhagen followed. So far I have used them all apart from the Copenhagen which is just a little bit too dark for my features. Sigh.

Described as:

Milan – Mid toned blue toned pink.
San Paulo – Plummy pink.
Ibiza – Matte deep rose pink.

Amsterdam – Pure red.
Copenhagen – Matte rich plum.

You can see me wearing the Milan here, Amsterdam here.

Well the price is brilliant less than 7 euro a tube! They do however tend to get used up pretty quickly, the Amsterdam has already started to dry out from over use. There is 8ml (0.27 fl oz) in each tube which is actually much more than some of my glosses. I guess that’s the only downfall of the matte quick dry texture.

I am amazed how well they stay in place! The second they get wet though they become like any other lip product and will fade. However for work where I am not eating and drinking for hours at a go, my lips can look as freshly coloured at 4pm as they were at 9am!

I would like to buy a few more of these, if not for myself to keep in my makeup kit. Such as Prague (a matte merlot), Sydney (a soft lavender), Monte Carlo (a deep cranberry red), Istanbul (a clean pink), and Antwerp (a mid toned, yellow toned pink)… I am sure I could add a few more but must resist the urge to buy all the lipsticks!

Have you tried Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream? what colours are your faves? and if not why?! Lady you better rush out and pick up a few from your local store.

I have always been a fan of grey’s and pinks mixed together, I think they just compliment eachother soo well. I felt like a change from the typical “black” liner and playing with a brighter fun lip colour.

Ladies who feel the change of weather pulling at and tightening your skin, this is the perfect product for you. When the weather started to change I needed something rich to help ease my dry & dehydrated skin.

I have actually been using this intense hydrating balm from Uriage twice a day for a while now (about 2 months), so long that its almost to the end of the jar.

The baume comes in a blue and white jar, which looks nice and gives the impression of a richly hydrating product (which it is). I usually go for squeezable tubes or pumps as I hate using a spatula and putting my fingers into products. I have been taking extra care to make sure my hands are ultra clean and that the lid is replaced immediately after use since I live in quite a dusty climate. But then again I am a hygiene freak…

H20 patented complex : Organic and mineral osmolytes (Uriage Thermal Water and amino acid).
Anti-pollution agents.
Shea Butter.
Limnanthes Alba Oil.” – Uriage.

The texture is a rich balm, that soothes and envelopes the skin upon application and nourishes dry skin. The moisturiser also helps to maintain the skins moisture barrier protecting the skin from damage using the patented H20 complex.

“Originating in the French Alps, in the Belledonne mountains, near Grenoble, Uriage Thermal Water bursts forth at an altitude of 422m, and a temperature of 28ºC. Packaged directly at the source, it is collected pure and naturally rich in mineral salts and trace elements. Its composition makes it the most balanced of all Thermal Waters.” – Uriage

Thermal water has been used by Uriage for almost 20 years!

Thanks to its high concentration in mineral salts similar to the skin’s Natural Moisturizing Factors, it offers unique moisturizing benefits. It soothes sensitive skin thanks to the high level of calcium and magnesium salts. Silicon strengthens the skin hydrolipidic film. It also helps restore the cutaneous barrier, thanks to mineral salts.” – Uriage

As you can see its rather thick. This balm is perfect for those with drier skintypes. At times I needed to be careful not to apply to much since my nose is a little oily and it can at times feel slightly greasy. I really loved applying this on my neck as the skin needs more protection and this gave my skin a wonderfully plump feeling. It gave the skin a lovely radiant dewy look.

This cream is seriously affordable and retails for about 18 euro. It lasts a long time since only a small amount is needed to cover the face & neck. It can be found in most leading pharmacies and is distributed locally by Metropolis pharma.

Would I re-purchase this product. YES. Why? Because it is the perfect cream to hydrate my skin during the change of seasons. Now my skin has adjusted I would switch to something lighter and then revisit this product again when my skin feels tight. I don’t think that my skin would like this all year round as summers are extremely humid, I also used to apply a little on my elbows when they feel dry and that was very soothing.

I have to admit I am very fond of the brand and I love their body line, so I would be interested in trying out other items from Uriage. Can you suggest any of your faves?
