I was recently invited to the launch of Vichys Dermablend 3D Correction foundation. What really made this event so special is that the extremely talented international makeup artist Allison Depriestre flew in to explain how to use the new foundation, sharing tips and tricks. It was a really exciting launch, and we watched how different models skins can be treated using the Dermablend foundations.

What makes the 3D Correction foundation different from the Dermablend Fluid, is that it contains an amount of salicylic acid. Salicylic is one of my favorite cosmetic ingredients because its a beta hydroxy acid. This means it eats away at the surface dirt and grease to unclog pores. Who doesn’t love a mild chemical exfoliation?

“As with other hydroxy acids, salicylic acid is a key ingredient in many skin-care products for the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis, acne, psoriasis, calluses, corns, keratosis pilaris, acanthosis nigricans, ichthyosis, and warts” “Salicylic acid works as a keratolytic, comedolytic, and bacteriostatic agent, causing the cells of the epidermis to shed more readily, opening clogged pores and neutralizing bacteria within, preventing pores from clogging up again by constricting pore diameter, and allowing room for new cell growth” Source.

The 3D Correction foundation also helps to even the skins texture, and fill in any pitting. Giving the skin a really lovely even complexion, with a great build-able natural cover. Which for acne sufferers is ideal.

For people with skin conditions such as pigmentation, vitiligo, and redness scaring Dermablend Fluid Foundation would be a better choice. It has a maximum cover and a long lasting formula which is sweat, humidity and water resistant and suitable for people with all skin types. It can also be used to cover tattoos:

I love this video! I wonder how long it took to cover him 🙂 During the start of the event a model walked around handing out cards with “I have a secret” at the end we saw Allison Depriestre removing the foundation to reveal hidden tattoos. I have to admit I wouldn’t have guessed the model was covering anything!

Here are some photos from the event, I actually run out of battery and didn’t take any photos myself, so they are from the Vichy facebook page.

It was a full house and I made sure to have a seat at the front (well second row) so that I wouldn’t miss a minute of the demonstrations. I was really lucky to be given a goodie bag with some foundation samples to test out, and a Vichy thermal spray ❤ So I will definitely be swatching and reviewing the foundation for you soon!

The salon is sweet and cosy, with two treatment rooms and an area for make up and manicures.

One of the things that I loved the most about this launch was the “My Melts” which are the most amazing oil’s in wax form, they are used on the top of oil burners and produce seriously amazing fragrances. I had to resist the urge to buy them all! I will def visit their shop in Mosta as soon as I am settled in the new place. I cant wait to buy oil burners and all sorts of fragranced goodies from them!

They gave me a sample to take home ❤ the “Sweet Vanilla” smell is amazing, my handbag smells absolutely divine. I was super lucky as the girls from Femme Beauty kindly gave each of us a goodie bag which contained a few skincare samples and another sample from “My Melts” which was called “Love Spell”. I am going to store them carefully and use them to christen the new home ❤

Last week I had the pleasure of being invited to a red carpet event launching new SkinCeuticals products by Persona Med-Aesthetic Centre.

The SkinCeuticals Charity Campaign will last 1 year, with 5% of all 2015 SkinCeuticals Sales going to Hospice Malta. Hospice Malta is a fantastic local charity which does so much to help local people in need, providing palliative care.

The Malta Hospice Movement is today caring for over 900 patients and their families. Most of our patients have cancer while a small number have motor neurone disease and respiratory disease. They come from all over the Maltese Islands.” Hospice Malta. I am so happy to see local businesses helping the community and giving back.

I met up with fellow bloggers Elle and Lara, we were greeted and given a goodie bag from SkinCeuticals, and got the chance to pose…

The SkinCeuticals 2015 Charity Campaign was inaugurated by Her Excellency Madame President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, and special guest Lamia Natafgi the SkinCeuticals Education Manager from the Middle East who gave a wonderful presentation on skincare.

SkinCeuticals are a very interesting brand, which is dedicated to skin health. They have a huge range of professional treatments, and home care products to suit your skin concerns. I cant wait to try out some of the samples I was given in the goodie bag.

One simple promise – to provide advanced skincare backed by science.
Born from decades of skin cancer research that led to pivotal breakthroughs in antioxidants, our high potency formulas are concentrated in pure actives and proven to penetrate optimally into skin.
Made in the USA, our clinical skincare is used by dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medi-spas for daily homecare and to complement aesthetic procedures. We formulate to correct signs of aging, protect healthy skin, and prevent future damage.” – SkinCeuticals.

The venue was wonderfully decorated.

With a dedicated team of professionals available for consultation.

The most exciting part for me was the Visia in-depth skin analysis. Since it was a popular part of the event, consultation times were limited. My skin analysis took about 10 minutes with the specialist, she explained normally they would take an hour to consult fully. I would love to book in for a full consultation, as a skincare professional I am obsessed with looking after my skin, and the Visia machine allows a deeper the diagnosis of what’s happening at a dermal level. The Visia takes photos of the skin and gives feedback…

The Visia machine first took a photo of my skin, then broke down my problem areas. Which if left untreated could result in pigmentation issues in the future. It’s a fantastic reminder to people to use spf since it shows the damage really is skin deep. I have always wondered what my skin looks like underneath. I am feeling pretty good for almost 29 (1 month to go), my water levels need to be increased but otherwise I am doing a good job looking after my skin.

Hey beauties!

This week I was invited to the launch of Dr. Organics, a brand that’s taking the island by storm because its made from natural ingredients without fragrances, animal ingredients (only using by products such as bee wax, honey, propolis – which doesn’t harm the bees), GM ingredients, mineral oils, or sodium lauryl sulphate.

As you can see the range is huge, stocking everything from skincare to toiletries. To sum it up, no matter what you need they got it 🙂 I love the packaging the colours are really bright and fun.

Some of the ranges include:

Aloe Vera for soothing, pomegranate for anti ageing, tea tree since it’s antibacterial, lavender to help relax, manuka honey for its moisturising and repairing properties, coconut to nourish, even organic snail gel.

They have a range of toiletries that is seriously impressive! I loves the idea of natural deodorants and toothpaste! And I was very intrigued by the different skincare ranges. All of the products are bio-active which means “having an effect on a living organism, tissue or cell.” anyone who has been reading my blog for a while will know that I have a love of enzymes and vitamins and peptides. Whilst peptides are not on the Dr Organic ingredient list (since they are lab made proteins) they are full of enzymes & vitamins! p.s they are also fantastically priced…

See how intrigued I am 🙂 deep in focus!

Here is me having fun with the bloggers:

From L-R: Lara, Elle, Marija, Charlene, Lorraine, Elaine, Me, Maya, Teri (our hostess) and Davi.

As you can see from the photos we sampled, smelled, and lusted after some of the products, we were so lucky when they offered us a choice of 3 products to take home with us! I wanted to try out the “pomegranate face cream”, “pomegranate body cream” and the “olive oil body scrub”. Reviews will be up in the next few weeks after I can really test out the products.

Have any of you lovely ladies heard of Dr Organics or tried them before? any must have items I need to know about? Leave me a comment below ❤

I was recently invited to a really “cool” event by Ta’ Xbiex Perfumery Ltd,
I could even go as far as saying the event was as cold as ice 😉 since it was an event for skincare brand Polaar.

Polaar is a brand created by Arctic explorer Daniel Kurbiel who was fascinated by the anti-oxidant properties found in the local plant life, and the brand has some great ethics:

1. Careful selection of principles natural active .
2. Design formulas environmentally .
3. Product purity : paraben, alcohol, mineral oil.
4. Products dermatologically tested .
5. Partnerships with leading academic centers and parastatal research to develop new active molecules .
6. Contribution to the protection of polar biodiversity .
7. At the industrial level, hunting waste by optimizing transport and waste.
8. Recovery of materials recycled , reducing the size of the cases, packaging.

What I really loved about this event was that it got us involved, we were given ingredients, weighing scales and gloves and told how to create our own scrubs!

I got a little crazy adding granules into the mixture, I think I may have made it a little to harsh for my face, but it will be great for my body. It’s so easy to get carried away when having fun, I wish I could do it all over again!
This is how my scrub turned out….

And if that wasnt enough we was also spoiled with food (and sweets) and given a lovely goodie bag too!

I can’t wait to try and review some of the products, we were given so many!

The arctic cotton face scrub, moisturising gel, sun protection spf 30, their micellar water, eye cream (not shown in pic), eye patches and even a few samples for men!

One of the best things about these event’s is that I get to catch up with some of my fave bloggers. If you get the chance check out their blogs… Lady With No Name, Beauty She Wrote, Lara’s Beauty Bible.
