Today I stopped by the 3INA makeup store at Pama Shopping Mall, they have a really cool Valentines offer on two looks:

Each look consists of a blush, a red lip colour and an eyeshadow.

Left Valentines look:

  • Red lipgloss
  • Pink powdered eyeshadow
  • Pink powdered blush

Right Valentines look:

  • Red liquid lipstick
  • Nude cream eyeshadow
  • Peach powdered blush

Both looks are very easy to wear. I love the liquid lipstick and nude cream shadow, I have similar from another brand otherwise I would have bough this set. They say you can never have too much makeup but I am trying to not repeat similar purchases. So instead I bought some items that my kit was missing.

I took my time looking over the hundreds of colours they have on display:

The lighting made it a little hard to take photos, but as you can see there are loads of colours and a ton of choices. All for a pretty good price. I could easily spend a fortune as everything looks amazing. The textures are pretty good too. I swatched a few items and they seemed quite pigmented.

Will post a review of what I bought in another post soon.

I am a little addicted to these…
Out of the 17 shades I own 5 and I am tempted to pick up a few more. I really don’t know how I lived so long without these in my life!

They have a cute yet simple packaging. The lids are black and the highly pigmented cream is visible though the tubes. The doe foot applicator makes it very easy to apply the lip cream. The names are listed on the bottom of each tube and each one is named after a city.

soft matte cream gloss nyx cream gloss names

Neither lipstick nor lip gloss, this matte lip cream is a new kind of lip color that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing.” – NYX

I want to call this a lipgloss simply because of the method of application, yet its not glossy. Its got a smooth creamy texture whilst applying and dries into a matte weightless vibrant colour. Once the cream has dried it really stays put, I can wear it for hours, and kiss my partner without fear of leaving a mark.

I wouldn’t call it moisturising, however, I wouldn’t say it leaves the lips looking dry/feeling extremely either. After a full day of wearing I do need to slather on my favourite Elizabeth Arden 8 hr lipbalm to re-hydrate.

L-R: “Milan“, “San Paulo“, “Ibiza“, “Amsterdam“, “Copenhagen“.

The first shades I bought were Amsterdam & San Paulo. I had seen the beautiful red Amsterdam on a few blogs and really loved it, and the San Paulo looked like a good neutral shade not to bright not to nude perfect for everyday. A week later Milan, Ibiza and Copenhagen followed. So far I have used them all apart from the Copenhagen which is just a little bit too dark for my features. Sigh.

Described as:

Milan – Mid toned blue toned pink.
San Paulo – Plummy pink.
Ibiza – Matte deep rose pink.

Amsterdam – Pure red.
Copenhagen – Matte rich plum.

You can see me wearing the Milan here, Amsterdam here.

Well the price is brilliant less than 7 euro a tube! They do however tend to get used up pretty quickly, the Amsterdam has already started to dry out from over use. There is 8ml (0.27 fl oz) in each tube which is actually much more than some of my glosses. I guess that’s the only downfall of the matte quick dry texture.

I am amazed how well they stay in place! The second they get wet though they become like any other lip product and will fade. However for work where I am not eating and drinking for hours at a go, my lips can look as freshly coloured at 4pm as they were at 9am!

I would like to buy a few more of these, if not for myself to keep in my makeup kit. Such as Prague (a matte merlot), Sydney (a soft lavender), Monte Carlo (a deep cranberry red), Istanbul (a clean pink), and Antwerp (a mid toned, yellow toned pink)… I am sure I could add a few more but must resist the urge to buy all the lipsticks!

Have you tried Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream? what colours are your faves? and if not why?! Lady you better rush out and pick up a few from your local store.

Laura Mercier Eyeliner Cream “Noir”

L’oreal Telescopic Mascara.
Finished with MAC Fix+.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in “Amsterdam

I love this mushroom taupe colour as its really easy to wear, I can dress it up or down in a flash with the right shade of lipstick. I am so so sad that Chanel discontinued the Raffinement quad. I am quite crazy about the Nyx cream gloss and the colour Amsterdam is one of my go to colours for a boost. I adore them and have I think 5 shades now. I think that this year I really fell in love with lips, before I always preferred to leave them bare or coat with balm / nude gloss, some times I still do but I am enjoying colour more than ever.

Oh what a difference a little pop of lip colour makes!

Last week I placed my first ever Makeup Revolution haul… (which I received yesterday)…
Today I placed another! Crazy? Maybe… But this time it was lipstick based.

Cause seriously all girls need more lipstick right?

I think I need to put myself on a makeup ban!
Have you tried any of these before ladies?

Journey to Wonderland: Dior Product Review

Dior has to be the most fashion forward cosmetic brand, each product has been created to be seriously stylish and trendsetting. Today I am so excited to have two beautiful products in front of me. The new “Fluid Stick” and the reinvented “Vernis” by Dior.

gloss and polish

The Fluid Stick:

“Dior has created a pure object of desire, with an ingenious design for all those who know how to cultivate the art of surprise.
The illusion is maintained until the case is opened and an applicator emerges that is steeped in colour and as precise and easy to use as a lipstick…” – Dior

A fluid hybrid, with the high impact colour and long wear of a classic lipstick in one sweep of a gloss available in 16 draw dropping shades.

Gel Coat resins with intense purity combined with a techno-polymer transform each coat of lacquer into a film as smooth and shiny as glass. Enriched with organic silicon strengthens the nail surface for extra-long wear. The techno-polymer creates a seamless bond between the nail and the lacquer for really long staying power. Formulated without toluene, formaldehyde, phthalates or camphor.” – Dior

The recently revamped formula gives an ultra shiny long wearing “Gel” finish with 30 to die for colours taken from the catwalk.

No collection would be complete without the IT shades “Pandore“, “Adventure“, “Wonderland” and “Mirage” I will be reviewing the colour 575 Wonderland.

Both the “Fluid Stick” and the “Vernis” have beautiful packaging, they really are stunning products to look at. Every single attention to detail just screams elegance and luxury which Dior are notorious for in their collections.

The most impressive has to be the “Fluid Stick” packaged to look like a lipstick in a silver and transparent casing. Then when you twist the cap the gloss applicator pops out ready to coat the lips in gloss like shine. The applicator has a soft rounded tip to help with precision.

The nail polish has a very modern packaging with a silver cap and a square bottle which is modern and elegant and the brush has been changed to give a one stroke effect.

Colour and shine come together as one for maximum impact with intense, long-wearing lip stain pigments directly encapsulated in spheres of gloss. Dior Addict Fluid Stick does not contain wax, but water for maximum lightness, an immediate fresh effect and addictive comfort… Fluid Stick Dior

When I apply the lipgloss I get a really good coat of colour and the texture feels really unique it has a creamy but firm texture which I can feel “hugging”my lips.

What I love about the Vernis is that the formula is without toluene, formaldehyde, phthalates or camphor. I think it’s great that more and more brands are using non toxic formulas.

(Toluene is toxic to the nervous system, impairs breathing, causes nausea, causes developmental damage to the foetus, and is linked to malignant lymphoma. Camphor can cause liver damage in rare cases when applied to skin. It has been linked to seizures when ingested. Formaldehyde is an embalming fluid, a well-known human carcinogen and can cause ear, nose, throat and skin irritations.- source)

Fluid Stick

The application is really easy since its got a round tapered applicator. I applied a small amount on the back on my hand which you can see in the swatch below has a vivid high gloss shine. When I apply the gloss to my lips the gloss feels very firm, it’s quite a stiff gloss and doesn’t really feel runny. I feel confidant in it’s ability to stay in place. On my lips the colour has a more red tone.

lipgloss swatch

This has a flat and wide shaped brush, it makes application for one stroke effect much faster. I have to admit I am more used to a three stroke technique and I tend to have problems applying in full strokes. I know many though who find smaller brushes tedious so this is really down to preference.

The actual application though is good, the first coat should be applied thinly and then with a second coat you get a really nice layer of opaque colour. The polish has a really nice shine to it which for those ladies who often skip on top coat will love. I still applied a topcoat as I find that it will always prolong the life of my manicure.

I really love the colour it’s a beautiful bright coral but has a really nice pink tone, no wonder it’s one of Dior’s top 4 as it’s a colour which really compliments all skintones.

Fluid Stick

I think this has to be a fantastic hybrid for the girl who loves a gloss and doesn’t really like lipstick (I am usually one of those girls although I am really getting into lipsticks at the moment). It does have a slightly sticky feel but after a while you kind of get used to it and it’s not irritating but more like a firm film which coats the lip.

I love the new colours and I like the new texture, I am still not sure about the brush. I don’t think it’s the product more my application method is a little old school. I have had the same issue with other wider brushes before but it’s never impacted the quality of the application.

Both products complement each other beautifully!
I think its very chic to be able to match your lipgloss and your polish.

I think Dior has really gone all out on the launch of these products the campaign photos and videos are really something special. I adore the #thisisnotalipstick tag. Have you got any Dior faves to share with me?
